Embroidered Portraits Reimagined - Sunday June 11, 9am

Celebrate and reconnect to your own unique wonder and beauty by taking one of your favourite photos and turning it into a work of art using simple embroidery techniques.

In this workshop Jules will teach you how to do flat and raised stitches, showing you their aesthetic possibilities and some visual examples. With guidance you will go on to plan the composition for your project and start embroidering.

Before we start embroidering, jules will help you plan out your piece and identify the compositional possibilities for your image.

For your final project, you will embroider a photograph of yourself or a loved one to create an altogether new composition and work of art using flat and raised stitches.

Hone in on some final details to immortalize your piece, exploring how to present your embroidered photo, and some ways of mounting it to preserve it and help it stand the test of time. Now you've got all the skills to embroider your own story onto a unique canvas.

Jules invites you to join her at the delightful and creative haven of her Home Studio, ‘Aphrodite’s Cottage’ in Yeppoon. We will enjoy a lovely morning tea included!

**Class starts at 9am and will run for 2 1/2 to 3 hours**

##IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Please send a good quality image or photo to Jules via email as soon possible so she is able to edit, resize and professionally print it onto thick A4 photo paper.
